  1. If you have the urge to write poetry, write it.
    Let you creativity flourish

  2. Go where your thoughts take you.  You will discover amazing things.

  3. Forced writing - where you try very hard to create poetry - doesn't bring out the best in you.

  4. Mix with people who inspire you and avoid those who depress you.

  5. If you are not in inspiring surroundings, visit places of natural beauty and you will be inspired.

  6. If you love poetry for the sake of poetry your poetry will be well received by readers.  In other words, don't write just to make money.

  7. You would expect that when you join a professional Poetry organisation and they charge you $50 to $75, they would help you by giving you publishing tips and how to earn from your poetry. One such Poetry organisation was more interested in displaying art and painting rather than helping their members.

  8. The good news is that good poems are worth money.  Some publishers pay you $5 or $10 per poem.  Others will be more than happy to publish your poetry for free - you don't get 1 cent. Some of the best poems can generate $1000s (see the submissions guideline below). If you are serious about your poetry and if you want to profit from your poetry than download the Submission Guidelines and prolific professional profitable poets will help you.
