The simplest and quickest way to get published and to get paid for your writing is to create your own ebook (e-book). We also cover paperbacks and hardbacks - read on. Can anyone write? Absolutely. If you have an idea, you can write a sentence. Once you have written one sentence, you can convert that into one paragraph. And then another, and so on. Use a word processor to help with spellings and grammar if you need help. What can you write about? Write about what you know best. Keep it simple, keep it legal. To get some ideas about potential topics, look at the submission guidelines. Write as if you are talking to a friend or that you are explaining a particular subject to someone new to it. Writing daily ... Get in the habit of writing daily. Even if you only write 300 or 400 words a day, your ebook will be finished within a short time. Ebooks can be of any length from, say, 10,000 to 80,000 words. Poetry books are likely to be much shorter. If possible, use a word processor to write your ebook. You can spell check as you write, you can keep a count of the number of words, editing becomes really easy, and you can use your typed manuscript to convert it into your ebook. More about that process in the later section. All you need to know at this stage is that there are thousands of new writers and poets who are discovering that writing can pay if you follow some simple tips and techniques. Many "gurus" out there charge a fortune to show you the publishing "tricks" - they want to generate myths so that they may fill their own pockets.
