Do writers get a fair deal?
In general, writing history has shown that writers were given a rotten deal due to an unequal bargaining position.
Writers deserve better and fair treatment - without writers, there wouldn't be any publishers. You may wish to join the writers forum - see end of this page - to receive details of writing opportunities and tips for writers.

Should I pay to have my book published?
If you are simply a good writer (not the best), then you should normally not pay to have your book published. Good writers get paid, they don't pay. However, see Best Writers below.
You may find the following article useful and inspiring
How To Write A Book And Get It Published In Record Time
How to get an author to review my book?
Simply ask! How do you do that? Get the author's book, he or she may have email contact details. If not, write to the publisher and they may co-operate. If not, and you have written a good book, get a literary agent - the agent will then help you.
Best Writers
and Best Sellers
Some of the BEST writers of all time were self-published. Literary agents thought their "poorly" written work deserved to stay in the garage.
Just goes to show that the reading public has a better idea about literary quality than many agents. Agents views are subjective and not always reliable - most professional writers can confirm this. If all first time writers had simply relied on agents views, we would not have a successful publishing industry.
If you are a writer, don't give up just because a few agents or publishers reject your work - they think they know when they see great literary works as well as the "rubbish" ones - history has shown that agents and publishers can be utterly wrong!
How to write about sensitive topics?
Some writers don’t care what impact their work may have on their readers. They simply write to annoy or to make cash out of controversy. We are talking about highly sensitive topics where the writer clearly shows a gross lack of any sensitivity or care.
In fact, some writers boast that they simply write … they should add, “without really thinking”.
As someone once said, "One bad person may perhaps ruin his or her own life, one bad teacher or writer may ruin thousands"
