Pressed for time? Heavenly healthy habits - juicy secrets

Try these fabulous fruit and veg. creations. They are tasty, quick, and amazingly healthy.


1 Hot Lemon and Ginger

For digestion and circulation. Squeeze half a lemon and grate a small piece of ginger into a mug of hot water, steep for five minutes. Have this before breakfast, and you will be transformed in just one week. 

2 Crazy Carrot Cocktail

8 carrots, 2 apples, and a piece of ginger root (about 1cm or to your taste). Wash the carrots, core the apple, peel the ginger, and juice all items together.

3 Orange Pomegranate Delight

Delicious and high in ACE, beta-carotene and calcium. Juice 5 oranges with the seeds of 2 pomegranates. Add a touch of lime if desired.

4 Eastern Promise Smoothie

1 pineapple, peeled and cored, the flesh of one large mango, 5 apples, peeled and cored, juice of a lemon or an orange, and a piece of ginger root (to taste). Blend, then add five spoonfuls of low fat yoghurt. Blend well. If serving chilled don't blend in the yoghurt until you are ready to serve.

5 Exotic Summer Cooler

A long drink for hot evenings. 1 pineapple, 2 passion fruits, 3 oranges, and half a punnet of strawberries. Prepare the fruit and juice it, then whizz it together in the blender. Serve over crushed ice.

6 Mind and body tonic

This juice is surprisingly tasty, and a wonder tonic.
You need 4 carrots, 3 sticks of celery, half of a small cabbage (red or green), one small cucumber, 1 medium tomato, 2 cloves of garlic and salt and pepper to taste. Add some lemon juice if desired. Prepare and juice the items together. Serve immediately.

7 An absolute peach

Exquisite and nutritious. 2 peaches, half a cantaloupe or honeydew melon, 1 banana, some lemon juice and ginger root to taste. Ideally, scrub and wash the melon and juice with the skin, which has more goodness than the flesh. Blend all items together.

8 Ginger ale

Juice 5 large apples and fresh ginger to taste. Add the juice of half a lemon, and mix with sparkling mineral water.

9 Lemonade

Juice 2 apples, 2 lemons, and a small bunch of grapes. Add sparkling mineral water or club soda to create a healthy home made lemonade.

10 Spicy dicy tomato

3 ripe tomatoes, 1 large red pepper, half a small onion, 2 cloves of garlic, some lemon juice. Salt / pepper optional. Juice or blend the items to create a drink with a kick.  No need for Tobasco here.
