Sometimes you can't see the wood for the tree. You are highly absorbed with your thoughts. Your great ideas overcrowd your mind. |
|
How can you make progress with all that buzz? The good thing about creative writing is that it allows the writer to be creative. In other words, there may be as many solutions as there are creative writers. If someone advises you that there is only one way to resolve your issue, there is only one answer to that - he or she is wrong! What follows therefore is only tip or one way to tackle the issue. There are thousands more. You can also find your own unique way of making progress. Step back
The problem arises when you get lost in the woodland - and you don't know where to turn next. That's when you need to step back. Your mind may be full of random ideas and entire chapters. Get everything down in writing, or dictate as fully as you can. Then relax. Get away from your writing for a while. Your writing may currently be like the woodland. You can now start to give it a distinctive form. Think about it like a tree. The seed is the beginning. You can then construct a solid foundation - the roots. Then the main body - the trunk. Flesh it with branches and leaves. Then enjoy the fruits - the ending. Simple, right? Yes, but it works for many writers. Give it a try. If this tip isn't for you, remember there are countless other ways to succeed. The only requirement is that you want to finish what you started. © Copyright and all rights reserved and legally protected. Consulting Editors and Mentors. AskProfessors.com. AuthorsSociety.org |
